MTN Group published a suite of 2020 reports – including the Integrated, Sustainability, Transparency and Tax Reports – covering how the Group performed in the year and how it delivered on its commitments to stakeholders.

According to MTN Group CEO Ralph Mupita, MTN Group is targeting a valuation of its mobile-money arm at about $5-billion, and will consider a listing of the division, joining African wireless carriers trying to monetize a service that is particularly popular on the continent.

Millicom International Cellular S.A. (“Millicom”) announces that it has signed agreements for the sale of its operations in Tanzania and for its stake in the AirtelTigo joint venture in Ghana. Once closed, the transactions will complete Millicom’s multi-year plan to divest its African operations and focus on its Latin America markets.

Having recently secured spectrum on the 800 MHz band, MTN Zambia expects migrating 274 sites which will lead to enhanced quality of experience for customers “through improved indoor coverage and network capacity,” according to the company’s statement.
