MTN Group has announced senior leadership appointments to operating companies in Nigeria, Iran and Sudan, all of them internal candidates, as the Group focuses on executing their strategy to drive growth, de-leverage faster and reveal value in fintech and fiber businesses. The appointments are effective 1 April 2022.

Etisalat Misr has selected Ericsson to modernize its business support systems (BSS) in Egypt. The transformation will upgrade and modernize Etisalat Misr’s BSS platform to support data and Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) traffic growth, 5G readiness and Internet of Things (IoT).

In Western Cape, Vodacom invested more than R1 billion in connectivity in the last financial year as the group upgraded its existing base station sites with 3G and 4G across the province to improve coverage and capacity, reaching 99.5% for 3G and 97.6% for 4G.
