Telecom Egypt posted net profit of 3.9 billion Egyptian pounds ($249.20 million) for the first half of 2021, up 88% from the same period last year, as a result of a strong operational performance, growth in investment income from Vodafone, and FX gains, according to a company statement.

Airtel Africa reveals strong revenue growth in Q2 2021
Airtel Africa’s Q2 2021 report shows revenue growth of nearly 31%, reaching USD 1.1 bln. Moreover, the company’s profit after tax more than doubled to USD 142 mln, surging by 148.7% in the June quarter compared to last year’s period.
Vodacom Group shares its Q2 results, waving strong growth in revenue

Orange expresses interest in Ethio Telecom
A tweet by Henok Teferra Shawl, Ethiopia’s ambassador to Paris, announced Orange’s interest for a stake in Ethio Telecom. The operator had “formally submitted interest to participate in the partial privatization of Ethio Telecom.”
