In a significant move towards fostering the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Zambia, MTN Zambia has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Small & Medium Enterprise Development. This strategic partnership aims to create a transformative environment for the flourishing of MSMEs, thereby contributing to Zambia's economic landscape.

Hon. Eng. Elias Mubanga M.P, the Minister of Small and Medium Enterprise Development, highlighted the Zambian government's unwavering commitment to providing an enabling atmosphere for MSMEs to thrive. Recognizing the pivotal role played by these enterprises in driving innovation, generating employment, and contributing to economic development, the Minister emphasized the importance of collaboration with the private sector.

Abbad Reda, CEO of MTN Zambia, expressed his enthusiasm for this collaboration, acknowledging the crucial role MSMEs play in the socio-economic fabric of Zambia, as he stated: "I look forward to a successful and fruitful collaboration that meets the objectives outlined in this MOU and exceeds our collective expectations.”

The three-year MoU focuses on various key areas essential for the empowerment of MSMEs, including market linkages, trade, investment, finance, training, capacity building, and research. By addressing these critical aspects, the collaboration aims to create a conducive environment for MSMEs to thrive and contribute significantly to Zambia's prosperity.

This partnership is seen as a watershed moment, signaling a new era of collaboration and innovation in the country.
