Eutelsat OneWeb has entered into a multi-year master distribution agreement with NEC XON, marking a strategic move to provide top-tier Low Earth Orbit (LEO) connectivity across Sub-Saharan Africa. This agreement encompasses not only the deployment of Eutelsat OneWeb's LEO satellite-based network but also includes provisions for installation services and extensive training throughout the region.

The primary objective of this collaboration is to deliver high-throughput, low-latency connectivity, thereby catalyzing the growth of the digital economy in Sub-Saharan Africa. The initiative specifically targets sectors such as cellular backhaul, oil and gas, agriculture, government, and mining, addressing the critical demand for seamless cross-border connectivity.

Eutelsat OneWeb's LEO satellite network is poised to play a pivotal role in meeting the connectivity needs of various applications, offering reliable services for cellular backhaul, and facilitating operations in key sectors like oil and gas, agriculture, government, and mining.

Moreover, NEC XON's cutting-edge Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services will be harnessed to tailor advanced connectivity solutions to meet the specific demands of the African market. The partnership includes the establishment of a bandwidth and service level agreement, ensuring that customers receive the promised speed and Quality of Service (QoS).

The partnership aims to address the diverse needs of enterprise customers by streamlining the delivery of device terminals and customer support while emphasizing cost efficiency and minimizing energy consumption, especially in remote areas where traditional network operators face challenges. This collaboration holds particular significance in areas where both land-based and mobile network operators encounter difficulties, and the capabilities of Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) technology are limited.
