Effective since day 1 of 2021, Maroc Telecom, majority owned by the Emirati Etisalat, has rebranded all its 11 subsidiaries in Arica as Moov Africa, evoking a “new chapter” in its international development: “This new identity illustrates the vision of the Maroc Telecom group “Africa on the move”, which lies in the principle of sharing the group’s know-how and its capacity for innovation for the benefit of the countries in which it operates”, said the company.

Present in Morocco (domestic market), Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, the Central African Republic, Chad and Togo, the operator who claims more of 70 million customers on the continent wants to unite its subsidiaries around a common identity.

Led since its creation in 1999 by Abdeslam Ahizoune, the group finalized in 2019 the acquisition of Tigo Tchad, the latest to date, and is now counting on the consolidation of the positions of its African subsidiaries. The global revenues of the latter represent more than 45% of Maroc Telecom’s consolidated half-year revenues between January and September 2020.

The Gabonese subsidiary of Maroc Telecom, Moov Africa Gabon Telecom, was chosen to lead the communication campaign common to all the countries in which the group is present. French judoka Teddy Riner lends his image to this seduction operation.

This rebranding is intended to support Moov’s engagement and efforts with the 10 million customers the company serves every day.
